I love when I get to interview nice people who I’ve hung out with before… It makes things so much more fun.

Mehdi was pretty late arriving for his set, so Silke and I spent much of the early part of the night w-a-i-t-i-n-g.

Waiting activities of The MEEP include:
- Drinking “Slices of Heaven”* with the always wonderful Mezzanine staff
- Me getting into a heavy conversation about my love of The First 48 and other true crime tv
- Listening to Omar playing Stevie Nicks
- Watching the creepy claymation (okay, okay, stop motion) visuals

Finally, Mehdi showed up and, as always, was a total joy to talk to. I think I’ve hung out with Mehdi just about every time he’s been in SF, and unlike so many other successful people, he is as sweet now as he was when there was practically no one there to see him. That sweetness and the fact that the man really knows how to get a floor moving make it obvious why Mehdi is probably my favorite member of the Ed Banger crew.
