Flosstradamus and Chromeo
![]()
We sat down with Curtis of Flosstradamus on the SF stop of their tour with Chromeo, and talked a bit about Midwest pride, hot dogs, moped gangs, myspace default photos… and did I mention half of this occured in the bathroom?
Robot Rock SF is the lovechild of Mezzanine and the Frisco Disco boys (and friends of theMeep,) Jefrodisiac and Richie Panic - a match made in San Francisco electro party heaven - or is it hell? Lately, if there’s a big electronic music act worth catching, odds are they’re playing at Robot Rock SF. So what better place for Chromeo and Flosstradamus to pack out a crazy free dance party?
Poor Chromeo. P-Thug was so sick that night, and still managed to put on amazing show. I am always so impressed when I watch bands do this. Backstage they are totally ill and miserable, but once they set foot on stage the audience would never guess. They had everyone dancing and singing and going nuts. Obviously, no one wants a camera in their face when they’re sick, so we held off on our interview this time around.
Perhaps it’s home state nepotism (Curtis and I are both from Michigan,) or maybe it’s my soft spot for anyone who will humor Silke and I enough to let us interview them in a bathroom, but after this interview I have a special place in my heart for Flosstradamus. I’d say more, but honestly the video speaks for itself on this one.

What’s the other guy saying in the background? Is he arguing with his girlfriend and trying to apologize over getting a groupie blow job?!

Justin (the one you met while you were in town Jessie) went to highschool with the guy in the interview (a year apart). And now this Curtis boy resides with Justin’s friends in Chicago. El mundo es un panuelo, no? =)

Nah… I don’t think so, Lisa E.
